Demographic Resilience in the Rural Area of Romania. A Statistical-Territorial Approach of the Last Hundred Years

The deep demographic crisis that Romania has been going through, like most Eastern European states, requires complex analyses. present study aims at analyzing the numerical evolution of rural population Romania, extended for more than 100 years (1912–2020), on basis which a multivariate analysis was subsequently performed. manifestation specific patterns territorial and identification incidence some physical–geographical socio-economic factors are investigated by means dynamics certain distinct processes, such as depopulation or ability to adapt various transitions. fragile dynamic areas allows discussions need public policies better oriented towards mending excesses, illustrated persistence gaps, in terms access basic services. At same time, trends shrinking system, with an increasingly evident concentration peri-urban along major transport routes, calls geared environmental management depopulated depopulating areas, creating conditions sustainable spatial planning high-density areas.
